LATEST SERMON

This sermon, drawn from Genesis 25, unfolds a profound meditation on God’s sovereignty, faithfulness, and redemptive purposes, centered on the transition from Abraham to Isaac and Jacob. It emphasizes that God commends faithful living despite human imperfection, as seen in Abraham’s life, and remains committed to His promises even when they seem thwarted, as with Ishmael and Isaac. The passage reveals God’s electing grace in choosing Jacob over Esau before they were born, underscoring that salvation is not based on human merit but on divine mercy, a truth confirmed in Paul’s teaching in Romans 9. The narrative culminates in the rejection of Esau’s worldly assumption that material satisfaction outweighs eternal inheritance, illustrating how God triumphs over human presumption by exalting the unworthy and calling the spiritually blind to see. Ultimately, the sermon calls believers to live faithfully, pray earnestly in trials, and cherish their eternal inheritance in Christ, which includes adoption, forgiveness, the Holy Spirit, and eternal life—riches secured by Christ’s sacrifice and guaranteed by God’s unchanging character.

Genesis

The book of Genesis was written to show that the God who created all things is the sovereign Creator whose purpose is to establish His covenant rule upon the earth will not be hindered by the sinfulness of humanity. Genesis unfolds the drama of redemption from creation to the fall to redemption, and the anticipation of glorification by all who call upon the name of the Lord and receive the Lord Jesus Christ alone for their salvation. Join us for this 95-week series through God’s unfolding plan of redemption in the beginning.

The Gospel of John

In the evening, we will begin working through the Gospel of John. Our prayer is that of John’s, “that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).
